karsearin

Part 14 is the fourteenth part of the Karsearin: The Biography of the Super Dragon.

Plot

Arin is enjoying the cool river breeze while leaning on the deck of a narrow wooden boat called 'Kelt' and enjoying the view of the riverside leading to the lush forest. A cool breeze brushes against his ears and a refreshing scent permeates his nose. He thinks it feels good. It was a feeling he had never felt when he was in the form of a dragon. The most powerful dragon's body is insensitive to pain, so it's also quite insensitive to feeling cool or warm. Just as you need to know sorrow to know joy and to know pain to feel joy, because of an overly strong body, the dragons had to be extremely slow in their emotional growth, which is one of the major reasons that made the dragons lazy. Just because they were born as dragons, they can rule as the strongest living beings on earth without any effort, and the endless life span has faded the meaning of time. Dragons do not feel a sense of accomplishment or achievement because they do not feel hardship or adversity. Eventually they became unmotivated by anything, which led them to indolence. Before becoming a human, Arin had never experienced physical sensations such as pain or pleasure, nor had he experienced cold or heat a few times, when he was beaten at a slave auction in Lael, although he was angry, he was even more surprised at the pain he had experienced for the first time. (He had been hit by an orc before, but that was Arin who forgot.) He also thinks that it was better not to transform back then, and thanks to that, he is now able to experience not only pain but also this pleasant feeling. No amount of detailed explanation can make the blind understand 'color', and no rhetoric can explain the sweetness of music to the deaf. Arin, who was able to realize the vocabulary of various feelings that he had learned but did not understand until he became a human, is immersed in the 'cool and refreshing sensation of the river wind' as he meets the river wind, and Mina, standing next to Arin, she tells him with her worried tone that the wind is getting colder, so Princess Ione must to go into the cabin. He tells her to let she and her go in there. Mina who show respect in front of people, and Arin, receive Mina's words as they learned in Serkarsel, and the two enter the cabin.

It took about three days to sail back from the trading city of Lael, and Arin's boat arrives at a small wharf at the estuary. Because it is built on the estuary of the river, there was a feeling of shabbyness compared to the huge port of Lael. There were already knights on horses bearing the emblem of the Batran Kingdom waiting for Arin and his party (Princess Ione and her party to be precise), and they were waiting for Arin and their party, which was not very big. They are led to a white and clean two-story building. The knights' coat of arms is a red two-headed dragon, and Arin is very happy to see it. Whatever it is, it's nice to see a familiar face once in a while. Even if it's just pictures. An imposing old man who looked like a nobleman, dressed in lavish clothes and handsomely grown a white beard, welcomed Arin and the party from the front door of the building, says welcome to Batran, and wished the noble princess of Karsel rest in peace. Saying they wish, Arin and his party unpack the outfits in the mansion with the guidance of the attendants. The mansion is obviously small, but it is never shabby. Arin enters the room with Mina and is being educated on the basic things that they need to know when they arrive in Alkanas, the capital of the Batran Kingdom. Outside, the servant knocks on the door where Arin is resting, and informs Princess Ione that it is dinner time, and Arin and Mina follow the servant's guidance into a room with a large table with regale. There are already about 20 people there, waiting for a meal and chatting about this and that. Arin sits quietly. Soon the meal come and they start eating. Arin thinks that no matter the situation he would not go hungry, and even though he fell into the human world without anyone he knew, he is very lucky to eat it every time he had a meal like this. Even if he complains, he learned to use a fork and knife elegantly at Serkarsel to get used to it, so he continues to eat without any problem.

At this time, someone asks if she is Princess Ione, the princess and heir of Karsel. He wonders who bothers the dragon eating. He says she is right, and asks who he is. Arin's inner thoughts were that it would be better if the clear and fair young man who looks like a sissy didn't care what he said, but he wants to continue eating, but since he had been trained diligently, a soft reply came out of his mouth, and the young man who spoke to him smiles and introduces himself to Arin. He calls himself the first prince of the Libeid Kingdom, Kasler el Libeid, and says it is an honor to meet the heir of the Karsel Kingdom. He thinks he will have many honors, and he will continue to eat. He says he's welcome, and he replies that he is rather honored. Arin, whose inner heart and outer appearance are completely separated through numerous trainings, despite the inconsistency between the thoughts in his head and the words that come out, his attitude is natural, and Kasler continues to speak, as if he thought it was a favor to see his reply with a primly smile. He tells him that when she's done eating, he wants to chat in a quiet place for a while. He says she hasn't finished eating yet, and then he suddenly feels pain and says she'll get up. He thinks that he won't get to eat properly today, and he wants Mina to stab himself weakly, if she want to stab it hard, he want her to cut her nails a little, because his back hurts. Mina and Kasler's servant, standing quietly behind their respective masters and finishing their meal, quickly follow after their masters leave, and the rest of the people watch them for a while before continuing to eat.
